Support Services

WE SUPPORT EACH CHILD INDIVIDUALLY

At Concordia International School Hanoi, we believe that true academic success is built upon a strong foundation of holistic well-being and personalized assistance. Our comprehensive Student Support Services are designed to nurture every aspect of your child's growth, ensuring they feel confident, connected, and capable throughout their educational journey.

Our dedicated Counseling Department plays a pivotal role in this ecosystem. Our experienced counselors provide a safe and confidential space for students to navigate academic challenges, explore personal development, and address social-emotional needs. From individual counseling sessions and group workshops on topics like stress management and healthy relationships to comprehensive university and career guidance, our counselors empower students to make informed decisions and build resilience for the future.

For our non-native English speaking students, the English as an Additional Language (EAL) Support Coaches are invaluable. These specialists work closely with students who are developing their English proficiency, providing targeted instruction and support within and outside the classroom. Their expertise helps students fully access the curriculum, participate confidently in school life, and smoothly transition into an English-speaking academic environment.

Finally, our vibrant Library is far more than just a collection of books; it's a dynamic hub for learning and exploration. Staffed by knowledgeable librarians, it offers extensive resources, fosters research skills, and promotes a love of reading. The library also provides a quiet space for study, collaborative learning areas, and access to digital resources, all contributing to a supportive academic atmosphere.

Together, these services create a robust network of support, ensuring every student at Concordia Hanoi can thrive.

English as an Additional Language (EAL) Support

We embrace the rich diversity that our students bring to our community. Our dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) support program is designed to ensure that all students whose first language is not English can thrive academically and socially.

Our EAL coaches work closely with students, providing tailored instruction in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This support can take many forms, including:

  1. in-class assistance,
  2. small group sessions, and
  3. individualized one-on-one coaching

We focus on developing both general conversational English and the academic language necessary to excel across all subjects.

By providing language instruction and strategies for navigating complex texts and classroom discussions, our EAL program helps students build confidence, fully participate in lessons, and integrate seamlessly into our school environment.

Library

Our school library is a vibrant hub that significantly enhances the educational experience for every student and supports our entire school community. More than just a quiet place for books, it's a dynamic learning environment equipped with a vast array of resources, both print and digital. Students can access an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction books, academic journals, and online databases, all curated to support our curriculum and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Our expert librarians play a crucial role, guiding students in developing essential research skills, digital literacy, and critical thinking. They help students find reliable information, understand different perspectives, and synthesize their findings effectively for projects and assignments.

The library also serves as a collaborative space for group work, a quiet sanctuary for independent study, and a welcoming venue for author visits and literacy events. By providing diverse resources and expert guidance, the library is indispensable in empowering students to become independent learners and informed global citizens.
