The Thunder Bolt

Every year the Concordia community comes together for one of our most beloved springtime traditions: World Cultures’ Day. Our campus was transformed into a celebration of global diversity, honoring the unique identities that make our school a truly international home.

Parent volunteers brought the school to life, turning the gym into an impressive exhibition of heritage and pride. Families from every corner of the globe dedicated their time and creativity to design immersive booths, offering students and visitors a genuine sensory journey through their home cultures.

This event is designed to be interactive for our students. Students had the opportunity to taste the world through a delicious variety of traditional foods and flavors all prepared with care to offer a true, authentic glimpse into global culinary traditions. Beyond the cuisine, students played and discovered traditional games that brought history and culture to life, turning international traditions into shared, fun memories with their classmates. Throughout the day, students also interacted with the parents and family members who curated these spaces, learning firsthand about the traditions, customs, and unique histories that define each culture.

We were incredibly proud to see such a vast array of cultures represented, showcasing the breadth of our community with booths from the USA, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Chile, Belarus, Thailand, Taiwan, Serbia, the Philippines, Australia, and China.

This day of global discovery would not be possible without the extraordinary efforts of our Parent-School Organization (PSO).The PSO’s efforts, paired with the immense dedication of our entire parent community, make this event possible each year. Their passion for sharing their heritage and fostering an inclusive environment allows our students to learn about the world in a meaningful, personal, and hands-on way.

Thank you to every parent, volunteer, and staff member who helped make this year’s World Cultures’ Day a resounding success. This event is a reminder each year of the beautiful diversity that makes Concordia special. We love celebrating the cultures that define our community, and we welcome everyone to join us in sharing their own heritage.
