New Building Dedication (Video)

Concordia celebrated the completion of Building B on our campus on Thursday, September 19th, 2019. We were privileged to have many friends from Concordia International School Shanghai, Hong Kong International School, LCEF members, LCMS members, the Board of Trustees, representatives from the Vietnam Department of Education and Training, and our remarkable parents join us on campus for this wonderful event.

Bart Day, the CEO and President of LCEF addressed us to open the ceremony, followed by the U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission, Ms. Caryn McClelland, who spoke and shared her excitement for the completion of the project. Ms. McClelland also spoke at the Building B ground-breaking ceremony eighteen months earlier on March 1st, 2018.

Adding to the event were amazing performances by the Concordia High School Choir and Chamber Ensemble, and an amazing show by the Lion Dancers from Dong Anh, our local neighborhood.

Celebrating the realization of the finished new building with many that worked so hard to help us complete it, has made me reflect on this achievement and the many benefits Building B has already fulfilled for student learning this year. As I consider Concordia, and note that it truly takes a village to raise a child, we are blessed to have:

  • Great facilities
  • Students with a passion for learning
  • Teachers and leaders who are dedicated to students
  • Parents who are committed to their child’s success and supportive of the school

We are blessed to have so many people come together with our students’ best interests at heart. Please enjoy this video of the construction process, dedication service, and ribbon-cutting event. Thank you all for your part in this tremendous achievement!

Respectfully,

Steve Winkelman, Head of School
