The Thunder Bolt
Concordia International School Hanoi transformed into a vibrant hub of activity and holiday cheer with the successful hosting of the Concordia 2024 Fun Run and Christmas Fair. This event drew an impressive crowd of over 500 attendees, also including over 260 enthusiastic runners and supporters.

The Fun Run featured both a 5k and a 1k race, designed to engage participants of all ages and abilities. The atmosphere was electric as runners laced up their shoes, ready to take on the challenge. The 5k race was particularly competitive, with 12 trophies awarded in various categories, celebrating the athletic achievements of our talented students, parents, and community members. Participants pushed their limits, cheered on by friends and family, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

“This 5k was incredibly tough, and I felt exhausted by the end, but I never gave up. I refused to stop during the final stretch because I knew others could catch up to me. Instead of looking down, I kept my head held high and gave everything I had left to push through to the finish line. That determination is what allowed me to finish first” - Jun (G7) Placed 1st in the Junior Competition
The 1k race provided a fantastic opportunity for younger participants to join in on the fun, encouraging families to run together. This shorter distance allowed children to experience the thrill of competition while fostering a love for physical activity in a supportive environment. The 1k event emphasized enjoyment over speed, making it an inclusive experience that welcomed everyone to participate at their own pace.

"It was super fun for me to take part in this event because I love running, but the most exciting part was to see so many students participating and to be able to cheer them on along the course! I was impressed with the effort they put into it because running is not easy. I'm already looking forward to next year, and I'm hoping even more students will join in!" - Mrs. Michelle Ngai, Placed 1st in the Senior Competition
Simultaneously, the Christmas Fair buzzed with excitement as we proudly hosted over 70 booths, the most we have ever had at this event! Vendors offered a delightful mix of food, drinks, and unique products. From delicious festive treats to handcrafted gifts, there was something for everyone.

“There's something truly special about witnessing people from all corners of the globe celebrating Christmas together! Families from Korea ran alongside families from America in the Fun Run. Thai mothers served food next to Vietnamese mothers, while Japanese children played in the "snow" with their German counterparts. The day was filled with a sense of unity amidst our diversity, as so many different kinds of people came together to create a memorable celebration. To me, that embodies the true spirit of Christmas.” - Regina (Head of PSO)
One of the standout features of the fair was the array of charity projects spearheaded by our students. These initiatives not only showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit but also emphasized the importance of giving back to the community during this season of generosity. Visitors had the opportunity to support these causes while enjoying the festive atmosphere.

The combination of the Fun Run and Christmas Fair created a lively environment filled with laughter, camaraderie, and holiday spirit. Families, friends, and community members came together to celebrate the season, making lasting memories and fostering connections. As we reflect on this remarkable day, it’s clear that the Concordia 2024 Fun Run and Christmas Fair was more than just an event; it was a celebration of community, health, and holiday cheer. We look forward to more exciting events in the future that bring our school community together in such a meaningful way!
