Concordia Grade 5 Students Punctuate their Writing

Concordia Grade 5 students are learning how to effectively use punctuation to improve their writing skills.

As part of National Punctuation Day in the US, each student made a poster to show their favorite punctuation element.

“I think Punctuation Day gave us an opportunity to learn how important punctuation is,” said Eunje. (G5) “It gives emotions and abundant expressions to what we say and write.

“Also, playing fun games and making posters reminded me of more punctuation I could use during writing workshops to show the story and not just tell it,” Eunje added.

Concordia emphasises teaching students to write well. Effectively using punctuation helps writers convey more sophisticated ideas in a fluid, easily understood way.
