Concordia Elementary School Students Meet Korean Pen Pals

Concordia students in Grade 4A have met pen pals with their counterparts in Seoul International School.

Writing and meeting regularly for activities like Mystery Zoom - using geography skills to guess exactly where they are, students have kept Pen Pal Journals, in which students write back and forth to each other and share their writing.

"It was fun meeting my pen pal because he told me what it was like living in Korea," said Duc Long.

In a recent session, students were able to ask the Grade 4 students from Korea questions about COVID - since four students in the Korean class had had it.

"It was interesting to hear their COVID stories because most of us do not know anyone who actually had COVID," said Serim.

All the kids are doing well and did not get too sick, so it also eased some worry from our Grade 4 students about COVID. Students found it interesting to hear about their experiences and how Korea and the school deal with outbreaks like this.

"It's interesting to hear what life and school is like in another country," said Bong

Students also got the chance to meet in Breakout Rooms with their pen pals to share their highs and lows of this semester.
