Personalized College Counseling Drives Success

A hallmark of Concordia’s success is its proactive and personalized college counseling program. Counselors begin working with students early in their High School journey, helping them chart a path tailored to their unique talents, aspirations, and academic interests. This dedicated approach ensures that each student is equipped to navigate the complex college admissions process with confidence and clarity.

“Having joined the Concordia High School Counseling team this year, I've had the pleasure of working with a Senior Class that has consistently demonstrated a strong sense of community, character, and care for one another--and their dedication to their studies is evident. Their university acceptances reflect not only their academic efforts but also their thoughtfulness in finding institutions that truly align with who they are and who they hope to become,” shared High School Counselor, Ms. Barini.

“What I appreciate most about this group is how they've navigated the college process with both determination and humanity. They've secured fantastic opportunities while supporting each other through the inevitable ups and downs. Their acceptances are undoubtedly impressive, but it's their kindness, resilience, and genuineness that have most impressed me during our time together,” Ms. Barini added.

Seniors shared what they’re most looking forward to about their university journeys.

“I plan to do research about (the cause of) autism in children. UIUC has a strong research institution for psycho-linguistics, so I'm so excited for that opportunity,” said Yui (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign).

“One thing that I'm looking forward to at Cornell is its diverse extracurricular activities, particularly clubs. One club that I'm looking forward to is the Salamander Watch Club, which is a bunch of students who try to look at the biodiversity of salamanders. I found this particularly interesting because it is different from my interdisciplinary major I intend to pursue, which is Cognitive Science,” said Wynn (Cornell).

“I’m extremely excited to study AI and Data Science at Penn and delve deeper into this field. I will have the chance to work with some of the world’s top professors and to collaborate with Penn Nursing and the Wharton Business School to design AI applications for the real world,” said Preston (Penn Engineering).

“I’m looking forward to a multicultural experience,” said Erin, adding, “and to try Vegemite,”  (University of Queensland).

“I’m looking forward to all the opportunities the school will give me, and the chance to study with impressive intellectual peers,” said Jen (Harvard).

“I really like New York, and I’m looking forward to pursuing my major in that environment,” said Kara (NYU).

“I'm excited about overcoming new challenges at Stanford,” said Mai Anh (Stanford).
