Once we have received all required admission documents for a completed profile for the student/s, we will schedule an interview and an assessment for your child/children.
STEP 2: Formal Interview and Assessment
All candidates seeking admission to Concordia are assessed for ability and English ability in four areas: mathematics, reading, writing, and a formal interview. Please note, students seeking admission to Preschool 4, Reception and Grade 1 have individual language and ability assessments and the formal interview.
Applicants seeking placement in grades 2-12 are administered the math and reading portions of the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP), provide a writing sample and the formal interview. The entrance exams support the Admissions Committee in determining the match between a particular student’s needs and potential and Concordia’s resources and capabilities. Students whose native language is not English will also take a language assessment. The assessment procedure is used to determine student placement and if any additional services are required to support the student’s success.
STEP 3: Admissions Decision Timeline
Once the interview and assessment have been completed, the student is presented to the Admissions Committee for a thorough review. Please note the timeline for a response for students seeking admission to the elementary and middle school grades once all required admission materials have been provided is at least one week. The timeline for students seeking admission to the high school program once all required admission materials have been provided is two weeks as a special credit evaluation to ensure graduation and a thorough review is required.
