Nancy Durance began piano studies at the age of 4, and has been a music teacher, performer, and composer/arranger since 2000. Born in western Canada, she received an undergraduate degree in Secondary Music Education (Distinction) with a Vocal major from the University of Regina, and an Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. She is currently completing a Masters in International Education from the University of Bath. Nancy has extensive experience performing and directing vocal and instrumental ensembles in Canada. In the spring of 2014, she was a featured performer at the grand opening concert for Prelude Music School in Hanoi. She is dedicated to developing excellence within the Concordia music program, and is especially passionate about using music to bring inspiration and enrichment to people’s lives, both at school and in the Hanoi community.
Nancy has lived in Hanoi since 2011, along with her husband David and their 4 children. She loves green tea, hiking, swimming, travelling, and making pizza every Saturday night for her family. She has been a part of the Concordia faculty since 2013.
