Lia is originally from the Mexican border in south Texas, USA. She received her Bachelors in Accounting from Concordia University Texas and also holds a dual Masters- an MBA from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and a Degree in Education (Math and TESOL) from Concordia University Portland.
Lia first moved to Vietnam in 2005 to work with LCMS World Mission, teaching educational methodology at a Teachers College in Phu Tho Province. She has since taught at the School of Public Health, Bach Hoa University, Raffles Singaporean College, and pull-out teaching (IEP) at Hanoi International School. She joined the Concordia family as a founding member in January 2010.
Being involved in the Hanoi community is a passion of Lia’s and she has done so through involvement as the newcomers coordinator for the Hanoi International Women’s Club, Concordia Middle School Girls Basketball Coach, singing in the church choir, the American Chamber of Commerce, and the Australian Chamber of Commerce where she served as Vice-Chairwoman. Lia lives in Hanoi with her handsome Irish husband, Daragh.
