Language Arts: Character Analysis

Grade 6 and 7 Language Arts students are learning how to analyze different characters, how setting and relationships affect them, and writing essays about these characters.

“We learned about the importance of character traits and how they affect the outcome of stories,” said Nate.

“We’re learning about character traits, how to study them and get deeper into the story, and how to annotate feelings and special traits,” said Elizabeth.

Students in Mrs Robinson’s class are reading and analyzing a book of essays entitled “Popularity”. The book is part of the Lucy Calkins curriculum, developed by Teachers’ College of New York (USA).
