Grade 8 Colonial Studies

The 8th Grade Social Studies class held a Colonial Fair as part of its focus on US History. The goal was to persuade settlers from Europe that their colony provided the most opportunity and was the best destination for settlement. The students took turns presenting as a representative from their colony and also pretending to be an indecisive European settler who was hesitant to make the long, risky journey across the ocean. Before getting into America's history with other countries around the world, the course begins with America's early history and how the United States of America started with the 13 Original Colonies.
