Concordia - Phase 2
To support Concordia’s long-term growth and continue our commitment to providing a world-class elite high school education in Hanoi, we break ground on March 1, 2018 on our new high school facility. This 5-storey, (approx. 8300 sqm), building will continue to enhance and develop our overall program.
The first floor is designed for and dedicated to the fine arts and student services. Art studios with supporting space will allow students to design and develop their passions for the fine arts in painting, sculpting, drawing, and creating. A black box theater, music classrooms for both choral and instrumental groups and individual and small group practice facilities will enhance our performing arts program.
The first floor will feature a large coffee house atmosphere with space for high school students to collaborate and work with faculty and staff. A college counseling center and the admissions office will move to the new building.
The second floor will focus on a second gymnasium, locker rooms, a fitness center, and a dance studio.
The third and fourth floors will have classrooms and lab spaces, which will promote the school’s applied learning programs. The fourth floor will also have an outdoor garden area for students and staff to enjoy the outdoors.
The fifth floor will be finished at a later date based upon the specific needs of the school.
The entire facility has been designed to promote energy efficiency and provide students with opportunities to learn how buildings work, and we aim to be LEED silver compliant - making it one of Vietnam’s few “green” buildings.
Most importantly, we are working closely with both the construction team and Van Tri Golf Course management to keep the existing school area free of dust and debris, by implementing proper dust barriers, wetting techniques, and other environmentally-appropriate methods to reduce impact on surrounding land and air.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2018 and the school plans to start using the space at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.
The high school students (grades 9-12) will move into the new space and the middle school students will expand on the third floor of the current building.
We look forward to celebrating and sharing this new world-class facility with you!
